The people regularly targeted by police harassment and violence, overwhelmingly the city’s poor and minority populations, have taken to the streets to speak out against the NYPD’s draconian tactics. Madness, the Zombie Virus Spreads and Why Budget Cuts Never Happen

The story and picture is bad. Here's one, that's just insane. A Florida high school student wrestled a loaded gun away from another teen on the bus ride home this week and was slapped with a suspension in return. You can check both stories out on Yahoo. This is just madness, can't we have a little common sense. My Great, Great Uncle Earl and Lucy would not understand this idiotic behavior. They were proud to carry there weapons openly. Followup: On budget cuts and why they don't seem to happen. A friend who works in the government told me this. A beaurocrat when asked to make any kind of cuts to their department, will only cut what will get the most screams per dollar. I said what does that mean? She said by cutting the programs people want or think they need, they will scream to there Representative not to made the cuts. The cuts will then be smaller or not made at all and the most important thing to the beaurocrat is that his of her job is safe. Zombie Virus: Can't cut $85 billion from a $2.6+trillion budget

... We pay these folks a good salary plus great benefits and they can't figure out how to cut such a small % of the budget. I say use a few of Ron Paul's ideas. Don't just cut [because it will grow back bigger] eliminate whole programs and departments. Then we'll save some real money. But it won't happen, because democrats and republicans will not give up the money [both are spending 30%+ more then we take in, in taxes and that's been going on every year, for the past 5+ years], the more money they control, the more power, less money, less power.
